Whispers of a Machine is a Scandinavian noir-style sci-fi game that tells the story of Vera, a cybernetically augmented special agent investigating a series of murders. Behind these atrocities is something even more frightening, and Vera soon enters a group of fanatics who are trying to create an artificial superintelligence - a technology that was outlawed almost a hundred years ago. The ghosts of the past, which inadvertently reminded of themselves and made her doubt both her own reason and her own value system, do not facilitate Vera’s task. In the investigation, Vera is helped by a high-tech nanosubstance called Blue. This unique technology allows her to develop superhuman abilities consistent with her psychological state. Build your own playing style and use augmentations to investigate, gather information and solve puzzles with many options. In this exciting story with existential twists and several endings, the mystery revealed by Vera will have monumental consequences not only for herself, but for all of humanity.
